The first thing I needed to do was to bake the cake.  Easy.  Next I frosted it.  I think it turned out pretty good, although if I had to do it again, I wouldn't frost the whole thing white to start with.  I couldn't see the indentions to pipe!  I had to make it my own (and scrape off most of the white!).  It only took me an hour to frost and it was a messy blast.  Did I mention I made my own

We are making some serious progress on our dossier, with only two forms outstanding.  Our home study addendum (and license) is on its way, and our proof of home ownership form is awaiting a notary.  We've had to redo form after form with this adoption, which is no fun!  But it's almost done and I can't wait to have this off my plate!! Every year Dave's family gets together the weekend before Christmas and does a brunch on Sunday.  We love it because it gives us an opportunity to see everyone and lay low on Christmas.  We always have a blast, and this year was no exception.  Thursday morning, Eli woke up with a high fever, which went away by Thursday evening.  We watched him Friday, and decided Sat morning we were good to go.

We got our dossier submission date...April 14th! That's two years and one day of being Eli's mom :) We can plan on traveling a few months later. Eli's first day of school was May 17th, and he loves it! I was in shock when he came home the first day and told me he played with blocks...and I could understand what he was saying! Aunt Wendy, Uncle Tony, CJ and Sam got Eli a hat. At first Eli didn't want to pose (he looks a LOT like my brother Alex in this picture!)... Oh, this picture is for them? Sure, I'll smile!
