About Me

My photo
My husband and I, the Dynamic Duo, have been married since 2003. We've weathered the storm of chronic disease (diagnosis 2006), infertility (diagnosis 2007), turning 30 (2006/2007 respectively) a first adoption (2009) of a tender hearted, compassionate Ukrainian BIG boy (born 2006), who has told us he'd like a baby sister, baby brother, big brother, and REALLY big sister. We recently completed our second Ukrainian adoption journey, which brought us a daughter (born 2005). We'll see what else God brings our way!

April 13th-A day to remember

This weekend flew by! We went to lunch and shopping on Sat with a Tx couple adopting a boy from Maxim's groupa. It was a blast! We agreed it's best that we didn't adopt a little girl because they have the sweetest things for girls! And Sunday was Easter back home. Happy belated Easter! God is good, and we can do nothing but celebrate our Saviour's resurrection.

I haven't been able to post because the internet cafe was booked this weekend. We're at a bar right now milking my Fanta and Dave's beer while we use the wifi :) We woke this morning and were running a bit late. Maxim wasn't in the best of moods (which is normal for the morning), and so we tried to wear him out a bit by walking him around. He's my little sunshine, what can I say.

We got back to the flat to a cleaned apt, and waited for our facilitator. We were planning on taking him out to lunch, but instead got a shock. He came in at around noon and announced that our court was today at 2:30pm....what? We rushed to eat lunch and get ready for the court. We were really nervous. The judge was in a good mood. The couple from Tx had their apptmt just before us, so they must have warmed him up :) He was very kind and nice and even joked with us a bit. He loved our pictures, stopping at a picture of us with the Stanley cup. He asked Dave some hockey questions, mentioned that I must have Ukrainian blood because I'm pretty (not a sexual comment), and approved us to adopt Maxim! I'm not really sure if the 10 days was waived or not...can't really tell from our facilitator's responses to us. But who cares! Dave will be headed to Kiev tomorrow evening, sign some papers at the embassy on Wed, and leave Wed night. He's excited to be getting home. Tomorrow I'll go with Igor to the place where Maxim was born...I'm really looking forward to it. I'm going to take some pics just for my sweet little boy.

My mom got to Kiev successfully and her train leaves shortly. I'm not sure when she'll meet Eli, perhaps tomorrow evening. He's more social in the evening. My mind is whirling because so much has been going on! All I know is that Eli is my son, and that's all I care about :) The Ukrainian Orthodox Easter is this coming weekend and I'm glad I get to be here for that.

I have more thougths, but I have to get going. My husband is staring me down for the computer. We really shouldn't be out this late...it's really dark. But it seems pretty safe here.

I'M A MOMMA!!!!
